Nola works with a wide age range from two-year-olds to adult skaters. Any age and skill level are welcomed!
No, skate rental is available during public sessions. Any lessons during training or freestyle ice will require your own skates.
I recommend Pure Hockey for any hockey related items and Go Figure for figure skating items. Both of these stores will custom fit your feet for skates! Play It Again Sports is also a good place to check for used skates. If you’re planning on joining the Little Blues Program through Centene, they will provide students with their own hockey skates and equipment.
No, you are able to take private lessons with no set length commitment. Once you have selected a lesson time, that will be your standing spot each week until otherwise discussed. I’ve coached some of my students for several years, while others try out a few lessons. Private lessons are super flexible!
You should typically get your skates sharpened after every 30-40 hours of skating. When your skates slide out from under you - it's time to get them sharpened.
I highly recommend first time/beginner level skaters, young kids and adults to wear helmets and gloves. Snow pants work great for super young kids to help cushion their fall. If you play hockey, you're welcome to wear your hockey uniform and pads.
