Experience

Nola started skating at the age of eight through the Learn to Skate Program at the Kirkwood Ice Arena. This led to her becoming a part of a synchronized skating team where she competed nationally for many years. She started coaching Learn to Skate in 2015 and is now the Learn to Skate Director at the Kirkwood Ice Arena. Nola also coaches privately for both hockey and figure skaters of all ages.

Through her Director role at the Kirkwood Ice Arena, Nola oversees and plans numerous group classes ranging from Pre-K 1-3, Beginner 1-7, Pre-K Hockey, Hockey 1-2, and Adult levels. She is also in charge of marketing through the rink's social media pages, planning figure skating events such as the Christmas Figure Skating Show and Spring Figure Skating Show, hiring and training prospective coaches, and plans various skating camps throughout the summer.

She is a professional member of USFSA (United Skates Figure Skating Association), Learn to Skate USA, and the ISI (Ice Sports Industry). She has instructor insurance, an approved background check, and is Safesport Certified.

Nola has a strong passion for helping students find their love for the ice. Whether her students are taking their first steps on in skates, preparing for the next level of team tryouts, or are adult skaters who want to become comfortable on the ice - she is always happy to help!
